CONSTRUCT A MINIATURE WHIMSICAL SCULPTURAL CIRCUS
and enjoy a HANDS ON COOKING CLASS 10am-3pm

10am-12pm: In the Silo Cooking School with Director Mary Kravec.

Soups are economical, healthy, easy and delicious. Each Family Team will make a soup with inexpensive easy-to find ingredients combined in new ways.  While soup is cooking we’ll make different biscuits (cheddar, herb, walnut-cranberry, parmesan-rosemary) to go with them.  Enjoy the results of our labors at the end of class.

Soups:

Celery Bisque sprinkled w/ gorgonzola,

Rutabaga Pear

Chicken Tortilla Soup w/ Lime

French Lentil Soup w/ Sausage

Two-Potato Chowder with Caraway

Black Bean Soup with a Hint of Orange

1:00-3:00:  In the Silo Gallery with Director Valerie Culbertson.

Family teams will construct a miniature balancing sculptural circus. This activity is based on the famous Whitney Museum Circus constructed by nationally renowned Roxbury, CT native sculptor Alexander Calder.  There will be a short history of Calder, and modeling demonstration, followed by families constructing their own individual circuses.
