Race for Chase Triathlon

Race 4 Chase is named for Chase Kowalski, an amazing little boy from Newtown, who loved to run. Race 4 Chase strives to empower kids to reach their full potential.

Registration is for children ages 6-12 years old wishing to participate in the Race 4 Chase Triathlon Program. This program provides youth with a fun, skill building, life-changing experience by introducing them to the sport of triathlon.

Registration is NOT guaranteed and will be selected based on a lottery system.

This program runs for 5 weeks beginning in June and ending in July.  Program times are 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. daily, Monday – Friday. Race day is the culmination of the program for the YMCA Race 4 Chase programs at YMCA Camp Sloper in Southington (1000 East Street, Southington CT) on August 3rd, 2024 (August 4th, 2024).  All participants will compete in a Youth Triathlon on this day.

This application needs to be completed by both parent/guardian and child wishing to participate in the program.  Please answer all questions; if you have additional children, each child must have a separate application.

Due to limited enrollment, applications will go through a lottery system.  You will be notified if your child has been selected into the program by Monday May 6th, 2024 If selected, completion of a registration packet is required.

Deadline applications are due back no later than April 29th, 2024
No extensions will be considered.

  • April 29 | Application deadline
  • April 30 – May 5 | Application evaluations
  • May 6 | Notice of acceptance
  • May 9 | Registration packets are sent to accepted athletes
  • May 16 | Registration packets are due back
  • June 20 | Parent meeting 6-7 PM
  • June 24 | 1st day of camp
  • July 4 | No camp for holiday
  • Aug 2 | Last day of camp and Final Ceremony
  • Aug 3 | RACE DAY! (Rain date – Aug 4)

Counselor In Training
Any child 12 or older that wishes to return as a C.I.T. this summer should complete the C.I.T. application. We will reach out to C.I.T.s individually to set up a volunteer schedule.
